BIOGRAPHY
Through the lens of a triptych storyteller, Jean von Mentlen captures the quiet moments where wilderness meets wonder. His recent exploration into photography has quickly evolved into a passionate pursuit of nature's narratives – from the golden-lit ibexes of the Swiss Alps to the misty temples of Japan.
Based in Zurich, Jean brings together landscape and wildlife photography with a distinctive three-part visual rhythm that invites viewers to linger and explore. Selected for Sony Kando Days Switzerland 2024, he continues to develop his craft while seeking out new perspectives in nature.
Whether tracking alpine wildlife or documenting the interplay of light and architecture in distant streets, his work consistently returns to a central theme: finding extraordinary stories in natural moments. Through careful composition and patience, he transforms fleeting encounters – a snow-laden branch catching morning light, or an ibex grazing in summer meadows – into lasting impressions.
